Welcome to the new J&W Murphy Foundation Applicant Portal.

This application portal is currently being used for - 

  • ALL applications for grants from the J&W Murphy Foundation, including renewal and expansion of existing grants; and
  • Reporting on your grant outcomes 

We accept applications year-round.

Eligibility

Only charitable organizations in Canada that are registered with the Charities Directorate of the Canadian Revenue Agency (CRA) are eligible for grants from the J&W Murphy Foundation.

To verify your organization’s charitable status, please refer to CRA's List of Charities.

Registration & LOGIN

  • If your organization is NEW to SurveyMonkey APPLY, step one is to request an invitation from the Administrator by sending your firstname, last name, email address, and your organization's charitable registration number to smapply@jwmf.ca. 
  •  If you already have a SMApply account, you must use those credentials to LOGIN. Only one registered email per organization account is permitted.

TIP!  If you are able to use a generic email address as your registered address = e.g. development @ xxx.com; fundraising @ xxx.ca -  you will make it easier for any successor to take over.  Once the account is created, you will be able to invite "collaborators" to share access to the portal and your applications without also sharing your login.

  • The system sends two emails. The first email invites you to register and create a private personal password. The second email makes sure you want to connect with us by email. Once you have successfully registered and your email address is confirmed, you will have access to our (only) grant program.
  • REGISTERED SMAPPLY USERS, log in by clicking the LOGIN button in the top right corner of this page, and continue working.  

PLEASE NOTE: The system contacts you by email from ‘noreply@mail.smapply.net’, so please check your junk and spam folders if you can’t find your invitation/registration confirmation.

Using the Online Form 

  • All components of applications are completed online through this portal. That includes  uploading supporting documents, and eventual compliance reports.  You can download a preview of the application form using the PREVIEW button in the Your Grant Request task once you've completed the preliminary contact and eligibility tasks.  
  • Your work is saved as you go and you can return to edit your application any time, but only until you press the "submit" button.

  • If you are unable to complete an application online even though you believe you are eligible, please contact the Foundation to make alternate arrangements.
  • If you have any technical problems with the registration or LOGIN, please contact SMApply directly by clicking the "i"  in the top right corner of this page.  JWMF ADMIN cannot help you with LOGIN issues for security reasons.
